Music, Science & Inspiration

About the series

The series, a trailblazer in its field both in Israel and worldwide, was born from a profound vision to establish a platform on the Technion campus for dialogue and inspiration between leading scientists, engineers, artists, and musicians. Each session features informal conversations, presentations of experiments and research, a lecture, and a live performance involving faculty members, guest artists, students, and staff. The belief driving the series is that art and science share significant common ground, and that interdisciplinary encounters are not merely an exposure to new content but an opportunity to create something novel.

The series was initiated by pianist Dr. Orit Wolf during her appointment as the first Artist in Residence on campus in the program’s inaugural year (2022–2023), a program established by Technion President Prof. Uri Sivan. To date, it has hosted dozens of scientists and guest artists, including Nobel Prize laureates. Each season includes four sessions held on campus and open to the general public. All sessions are free of charge but require prior registration. The duration of each session is 90 minutes, with no intermission.

Currently, the series is supported by the President’s Fund and the generous contribution of Mrs. Sonia Marschak.
